AMS 2017 in Tokyo January 20 and 21, 2017

Welcome

Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to have the 19th Annual Meeting and Refresher Course of the Asian Musculoskeletal Society (AMS) 2017 in Tokyo on 20 and 21 January, 2017. It will be a Joint Meeting of AMS, Japanese Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (JSMR) and Bone & Soft Tissue Tumour Club of Japanese pathologists (BTC). On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, I would like to express my gratitude to all who participate in this meeting.
The theme of the AMS 2017 is “Pathology and Radiology: A Pair of Wheels of MSK”. The Venue is The Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo. During the 2-day session, joint AMS-JSMR-BTC sessions are scheduled in addition to the AMS sessions. We welcome submissions of e-poster presentation. Case report and scientific research are welcome.
We hope this meeting will be a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge among AMS and JSMSR members. All the members of Local Organizing Committee are looking forward to meeting all of you in Tokyo.

Call for Scientific Paper (Electric Poster Presentations)

The Local Organising Committee is inviting submission of abstracts of Scientific Papers. All scientific presentations will be Electronic Poster Presentations except for the candidates of the Annual “AMS/ISS Best Scientific Paper Award”.

All aspects of musculoskeletal disease, including imaging, pathology and management, are welcome. Exhibits may be scientific research, educational reviews, or case series.

At least one of the authors must be registered for the 19th AMS Meeting in Tokyo.

The exhibits will be judged by the Scientific Committee and certificates will be awarded to the best three exhibits.

AMS/ISS Best Scientific Paper Award

(Submission deadline is 31 December 2016)

We are pleased to announce that applications are open for the Annual “AMS/ISS Best Scientific Paper Award”. This award will be given to the presenter of the best musculoskeletal scientific paper at the 19th AMS on 20-21 Jan, 2017 at The Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan.

The winner will:
Pay registration fee at ISS member’s rate for the 2017 ISS Annual Refresher Course to be held in New York 2017.
Be extended an invitation to attend the Closed Meeting of ISS members. This is a rare privilege to observe presentations and discussions of esoteric cases by renown musculoskeletal radiologists, pathologists and clinicians.

Conditions are:
Only AMS members who are not ISS members will be eligible.
The award winner will attend the 2017 ISS Refresher Course and Closed Meeting to be held in New York, U.S.A. The winning paper, if deemed to be of sufficient merit by the judges, will be presented at the Special Scientific Session of the ISS Closed Meeting.
The award winner must undertake to present his or her paper at the Special Scientific Session of the ISS Closed Meeting in New York, if chosen.
The AMS will provide a grant towards defraying the award winner’s travelling/ accommodation expenses.

The shortlisted candidates:
The shortlisted candidates will present their papers at the scientific session scheduled on 20 January 2017 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM at The Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan.
Judges will be nominated senior members of the AMS who are also ISS members and may include other distinguished ISS members from outside of Asia. The judges’ decision is final.
The award winner will be announced during the Annual Meeting.
